Some symbols become so familiar that we stop seeing everything they carry.
For us, the eagle standing on a nopal and devouring a serpent is one of them. We grow up seeing it at the center of the Mexican flag, stamped onto coins, painted across murals, and carried anywhere Mexican identity is represented.
But long before it became a national emblem, the image was connected to the founding of Mexico Tenochtitlan. It represents arrival, struggle, and the beginning of something that would survive far beyond the world where it first appeared.
That symbol is at the center of Imperio, our September collection.
What Imperio Represents
Imperio is a tribute to our roots, our resilience, and the pride we carry in who we are.
We come from warriors, innovators, artists, builders, and creators who shaped cultures rich in history, knowledge, tradition, and pride. Their world was attacked, transformed, and too often reduced to a few pages in a history book, but it was never erased.
You can still see it in our food, language, music, art, celebrations, and traditions. It is about recognizing what survived.
Our history survived. Our creativity survived. Our traditions survived. Our pride survived.
The Design
The Imperio design reimagines the eagle, nopal, and serpent through a codex inspired style.
The eagle rises from the nopal with its wings spread, gripping and devouring the serpent. Earthy shades of red, green, cream, and brown give the artwork an aged feeling, as if the image came from another time but was created for the present.
Every part of the collection carries that same symbol in a different form.
On the T shirt, the full artwork spreads across a deep brown tee, allowing the details and earthy colors to take over the piece.
The pañuelo transforms the design into a complete square composition, framed by codex inspired elements and made to be worn, displayed, or carried.
A structured brown snapback places the emblem front and center, creating a bold piece without losing the detail of the original artwork.
For something you can make your own, the iron on patch can be added to a jacket, bag, hat, or wherever you choose to carry the symbol.
Together, the four pieces form a collection built around one image and everything it represents.
To tell the larger story behind the symbol, we also created a short film that travels backward through Mexico, from the culture we recognize today to the founding image that inspired Imperio. It moves through mariachi, lucha libre, the Golden Age of Mexican cinema, the Mexican Revolution, independence, and the Mexica world before arriving at the eagle, the nopal, and the serpent.
Carry What Came Before You
Imperio is a reminder that we did not come from nothing.
We come from people who built cities, studied the stars, created art, developed knowledge, fought, adapted, and endured. What they began continues through us every time we learn the history, tell the stories, create something new, and carry our roots without apology.
This collection is for anyone who understands that pride is not only about looking backward. It is also about deciding what we carry forward.
