Panteón Fest 2025 - Our Offering to Oxnard
When we started Pipiripau back in 2011, we never imagined that one day we’d be hosting our very own Día de los Muertos festival in our hometown of Oxnard. From the beginning, we’ve always known that we wanted to create things the right way—whether it’s art, a brand, or a community event.
Over the years, our brand took us all over California—San Diego, Sacramento, Modesto, Los Angeles—and even into Arizona. In every city, we met amazing people who, to this day, remain great connections and friends. We saw how different communities came together to celebrate Día de los Muertos. Each had its own unique style, but the common thread was the love and unity that flowed through their celebrations. Families, artists, musicians, and neighbors all showed up for each other. We admired that closeness, and it inspired us to dream about bringing something like that home to Oxnard.
Fast forward a decade. After years of traveling, creating, and building Pipiripau, the pandemic shifted everything. In that time, we planted deeper roots by opening our first official shop in the heart of Oxnard, at Heritage Square. With that came a realization: it was time to stop dreaming about what was possible and start creating it ourselves. So in 2023, we launched our very first Día de los Muertos festival—Panteón Fest—a celebration built from everything we’d learned and loved on our journey.
Now, here we are in our third year, grateful for the inspiration of the events that came before us, and even more grateful for the love and support Oxnard has given back.
Panteón Fest isn’t backed by corporations—it’s fueled by family, friends, small businesses, local organizations, and most importantly, our community. It’s sweat, love, and purpose all rolled into one. Just like when we started Pipiripau, we’re committed to doing things the right way—protecting the soul and beauty of this tradition while always finding ways to make it feel fresh.
This year, we’re bringing even more to Downtown Oxnard. You can expect live music from four acts, including LA-based band Poco Pocho, a theatrical play that dives into culture and storytelling, a Catrín & Catrina Contest, traditional dances from different regions of Mexico, an art gallery featuring 21 local artists presented by Sue Franco and Allee Amore, community altars to honor our loved ones, and much more.
